PROJECT BRIEF

The Ask:

The campus needed a brand identity that captured both its distinct architectural setting and its proximity to the adjacent nature reserve — one that felt calm and considered rather than corporate, in keeping with the setting itself.

The Idea:

I sourced a brand agency through RFP to develop the logo and identity, then directed the identity's rollout across campus and interior signage using a simple wall-mounted technique to keep it feeling less corporate. I commissioned a local artist for two murals on the buildings surrounding "The Outlook," the campus's social hub, plus a third mural in the parking garage highlighting bike storage. For Phase 2, I named and built the brand myself for "The Lot" — an outdoor sport court featuring a shipping-container gym, a pickleball court, and a wellness yard — selecting a complementary color palette that worked alongside the main campus identity. To launch the property, I directed a broker event built around the brand's name.

The Outcome:

The agency's identity centered on serene, calming colors matched to the reserve setting, with a cursive "R" logotype that echoes the silhouette of the cliffs visible from campus. For the broker event, I built a campaign around the double meaning of "reserve" — encouraging brokers to reserve their spot — anchored by a custom swag pop-up with local brand Nixon under the tagline "Tick tock, reserve your spot." Custom drink carriers, styled as miniature shipping containers, tied back to The Lot's gym concept. Brokers competed in a cornhole challenge for a high-end e-bike, giving the event a standout prize that became a talking point across the broker community.
